So, who’s with me?

// Happy New Year! Bit late but, hey…

Just wanted to throw another challenge for the New Year into the mix and encourage y’all to join me in Partnering to Remember. The basic idea is to learn all of the book of Philippians off by heart by Easter Day. A handy guide can be downloaded here.

So, who’s with me?

Mosaic

// “What’s with the name ‘Mosaic’?” I hear you asking. Well, there’s a fantastic bit in the Bible that talks about what God is up to in forming a new humanity through people transformed by Jesus; a new community. A diverse, multicultural, multigenerational community:

Now you are living stones that are being used to build a spiritual house…
1 Peter 2:5 (CEV)

I like that. I like it a lot. I love the imagery and symbolism and how it shows what matters to God. Stones – rough, diverse, colourful –  being built up into something special. That’s why we named the new adventure we are beginning, as part of the wider Exilio mission, ‘Mosaic’. We’re a small, diverse bunch, a bit rough round the edges, even broken and fragmented, but in God’s eyes a beautiful work of art. The task before us? How to fit all the pieces together!
